KARIN HANTES

Karin Hantes studied art in Arnhem, the Netherlands, graduating with a teaching degree in Art in 1991. Early in her career, she began creating “light objects,” which became a defining element of her artistic practice.

After moving to Lebanon in 2003, she opened an art studio where she taught private classes for children and adults. She later opened a shop that was destroyed in the Beirut blast. Alongside teaching, her work has been exhibited in Lebanon and the Netherlands.
Her mixed-media light objects feature elegant female figures crafted with papier-mâché, fabrics, and intricate embellishments. Her paintings, created with acrylics, collage, and stamps, portray crowned women surrounded by flowers, symbolizing feminine strength and creativity.

Since 2022, she has collaborated with Artists of Beirut, showcasing her work in numerous exhibitions and artistic events held in various art spaces venues in Beirut.
